The Dominican republic

With nearly 10 million people, the Dominican Republic is the second most populous country in the Caribbean after Cuba. According to the World Bank, only 74% of its inhabitants have access to clean water – a major reason the cholera outbreak of November 2010 proved so deadly. While access in urban areas is higher than in rural ones, informal shantytowns outside of major cities routinely lack the sanitation needed to prevent the outbreak of waterborne diseases.

Currently, we have no active projects in the Dominican Republic.
